The Flight Line is a small launch located at the end of the runway at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton. It provides a great getaway for those at NASA and Langley Air Force Base looking for a short session during work. Rigging is somewhat in grass as is parking. Although I have had the misfortune of being run off by security (always at the end of my session) many others sail here regularly.
The sailing here is flat water only but it's proximity to NASA and LaFB make it relatively popular. Best wind directions are Northwest, Northward to East.
Once on Langley Air Force Base, drive around the base to the water front. The launch is between the pool and the NCO club.
Convenient to NASA and LaFB, nice rigging area, no shorebreak, great view of military aircraft.
Might get run off by security, muddy bottom.
